Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz DUPE!

Eyebrows…never leave home without ‘em 👀.  I thought I’d died and gone to heaven when I discovered Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz! Because I can never leave my house without putting on my eyebrows, and this is such a great product, I used up my first Brow Wiz in just three weeks!!! Whaaaaa?!?!?! Yes – I used it THAT much! So I ran right out and purchased another one. However, realizing that I could not keep doing this – I mean seriously, as much as I love it, spending $18 on a brow pencil every three weeks is just not an option. Thus began my quest for a dupe! And BOOYAA – I found one!

NYX recently released their Micro Brow Pencil that is very similar to the Anastasia Brow Wiz with just a few differences. Not bad…just different.

First – the color selection. The colors definitely differ from those of the Anastasia Brow Wiz line, so you’ll really have to try out each one to determine which color would be best for you. (I bought two – the Ashe Brown and the Brunette.)

Second – the formula. NYX has found a really good formula for this micro brow pencil, but of course it’s not the exact same as Anastasia. I found NYX’s formula to be waxier. It doesn’t go on as smoothly as the brow wiz, but it does go on nicely. You just have to use a liiiiiiitle bit more pressure. So because it is a bit waxier, when you brush it with the spoolie you tend to remove more product than with the brow wiz. That said, it still does blend nicely.

Last – the PRICE! Compare $9.99 to $18. Every three weeks…this will be my go-to.

If you happen to shop at Ulta, then you know that NYX products are often on sale – buy one, get one 50% off. So that basically means that you can get TWO micro brow pencils for LESS than the price of one Brow Wiz! Another very attractive feature!

The only con I have is the spoolie. I’m not a huge fan of the NYX micro brow pencil spoolie. The rows of bristles are too far spread apart, in my opinion. And they’re rough. They sort of scratch the skin and remove more product rather than blend it. Like I said before though, it still blends nicely. I just usually keep my Brow Wiz close and use that spoolie to blend.

My final thoughts on this comparison: I really do love the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz – NOTHING at this point will ever stop me from using it. However, the micro brow pencil from NYX is a great option as an in-between purchase and dupe. I have found a color that works well for me, it blends nicely, and it’s at a terrific price point.

WE ALL LOVE TO SAVE A BUCK! So go on girls – give it a try! Who knows, you may fall in love and free up some extra cash for those other luxe products we all love so much! 😉 If you do try it, be sure to come back here and leave me a comment on how well it worked for you, or connect with me on Twitter!
